Blissberry Almost Famous

We were thrilled to add Blissberry genetics to our herd.  We are looking forward to seeing Legend's daughters next spring.  This was our first time having a kid shipped to us sight unseen, and we could not have been happier this this guy - long, tall, and very correct.

LSP Farm Voo Doo Chile

'Red' is a stunning wide, deep buck that I've loved since I saw his first picture.  Although we hadn't planned on adding another Nubian buck this year, when the opportunity came up to add these genetics to our herd, we couldn't pass up the opportunity.  Most of our Nubian does were bred before he arrived, but he was able to breed on Purebred Nubian and several Experimental does.  I'm looking forward to seeing his first kid crop!

We were thrilled to be able to bring in some Freelance genetics to our herd.  Tacoma has been a wonderful cross with our does, improving toplines and rear leg angulation.  His 4 retained 2014 daughters all earned their *M designation in 2016.  His 2015 daughters are looking amazing.  Even more important to us is the temperament he passes on to his daughters – sweet, willing, and eager to please.

Tacoma comes from excellent show and milk lines.  His dam was the 2009 ADGA National Show 1st place senior yearling, and his maternal sister made the 2013 Top-ten production list.  His paternal granddam was the 2009 ADGA National Show Reserve Grand Champion, and was on the Top-Ten list in 2008 and 2009.

Unfortunately, with 8 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and a grandson all retained, Tacoma has about worked himself out of a job here.  We are hoping to get him appraised before he moves on to work in another herd.

We are excited about using a home-bred buck this year.  Hoo is developing so nicely.  He brings in some of my favorite Redwood Hills lines.  We are hoping the line-breeding to Tacoma daughters will continue to improve our herd.  He will be used on some of our Experimental does this fall.

We added Distiller to bring in the excellent Soldier Mountain and Pearl Valley genetics in his background.  I had the opportunity to meet his dam when I picked him up, and she is just stunning!  We are hoping he will cross well with our Tacoma daughters and continue to improve milk production.  He will be used on some of our junior does this fall.  And the majority of our Alpines and Experimentals in the fall of 2018.
